Make your Next Trip into one to Remember
While England is currently under lockdown until the 2nd December, camping is not currently permitted. However, this gives us plenty of time to plan our perfect getaway for when restrictions ease! View our top tips below for transforming your next ordinary camping trip into a romantic getaway to remember!
Keep it Short and Sweet
It goes without saying that camping means ‘roughing it’ to a certain degree, and while this is usually all part of the fun, after a few days of snoozing in a sleeping bag and washing yourself with baby wipes, you’ll start to feel pretty icky and certainly not romantic! Keep your trip short and sweet. Pack for a maximum of two nights.
Set the Scene
Once you arrive at your destination, try and pick a spot with a good view or some scenic surroundings. Use a wind breaker or a canopy outside your tent to create a feeling of privacy and decorate it with some battery operated string lights for an instantly relaxing vibe. While you’re at it, throw some string lights inside the tent too and make sure to adorn it with plenty of blankets and pillows.
Keep it Cosy
Make the outside space extra cosy by throwing a couple of faux sheepskin rugs over your camping chairs. You can find them relatively cheap (around £10 each) and they will make relaxing outdoors feel instantly more luxurious.
Light it up
Make sure your tent and outside space is well lit with soft and cosy lighting. As well as string lights, try some lanterns or ground torches and add a couple of candles to your camping table and don’t forget the pièce de résistance… a roaring campfire!
Get Cooking
Forget tins of ready-made chilly and packets of instant noodles! Your significant other deserves a freshly prepared meal! There’s nothing quite like cooking outdoors, especially over the warmth of a romantic campfire. There are thousands of delicious camping recipes to try, either for you to make for your partner or to enjoy cooking together. Many of which require no special equipment. If you want the fresh, delicious taste of a freshly made meal, without the fuss try a foil packet recipe such as this one from fresh off the grid which can be cooked easily on your campfire or camping grill.
